What is Church?
Normally, people consider the church as a building that is used for worship by Christian. Through this writing, we will see deeply this matter according to the Bible. Mathew 18th chapter 17th verse, clearly explains the church. “If he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church but if he neglects to hear the church, let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican”. Here I will highlight two points;

- neglects to hear the church
I want to ask you one question; if a church is a building then it can tell something? A building can hear something? No, a building cannot tell or hear anything. A church is not a building. A church is the people of God. The household of God is the church (See 1 Timothy 3:15 and Acts 5:14).
Who is Head / Body of the Church?
Colossians 1:18 says, and He is the head of the body, the church: Here, the word ‘He’ is used for Jesus Christ. He is head of the Church. Many times the bible says that Jesus is head of the church and the church is the body of Christ in the New Testament. As the Church is the body of Christ; (See 1 Corinthians 12:27 and Ephesians 4:12) all Church members are playing the role of a different body part. For example, Can we see through the ear? Can we hear through the eyes? Can we talk with the skin? Can we smell through the tongue? No, it cannot be. Everybody part has a specific function.
I want to ask a question. Can a body survive without ahead? No, it is impossible. A body without a head cannot survive. Christ is head of the Church and he is the savior of the body (See Ephesians 5:23). I will further explain the body of Christ by giving an example; if we separate our hands, legs, foot, fingers, and each part of the body; and put it on the floor. It will grow up? No, it is not in use. It has no life. The same is with the church. A church without bonding or functioning of every part is like a dead body. We all need to function.
Work of Church:
The work of the church is to pray and anoint in the name of the Lord (See James 5:14). Church has different functions. Bible discloses some functions for Church. 1 Corinthians 12: 28 declare some apostles, some prophets, some teachers, some after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. In the chapter of Acts 20:28 again Lord said, Shepherd the church of the Lord.

What Kind of Church Should be?
A Church should be without any spot or wrinkle or any such thing. It should be holy and without defect. (See Ephesians 5:27)
Church Growth:
We will discuss four types of Church Growth;
- INTERNAL GROWTH: This is the spiritual growth of the Church. 1 Corinthians 14:4 explains the internal growth of the Church. The person who prophesies edifies the Church.
- EXPANSION: Expansion is accomplished by the growth of non-Christians within the area where the Church is working.
- EXTENSION: When a church establishes new daughter churches in the same area, it is extending.
- BRIDGING: This focuses on the establishment of Churches in different geographical areas.

We independent Evangelical ministries (IEM) are covering all the above conditions for church growth. We have been serving and planting church all over the Pakistan since 1995, through God’s will and hand of provision Independent Evangelical Ministries has planted over 15 churches where on any given Sunday, over hundreds people gather to worship. IEM Pakistan has a growing team of church planters who regularly start new ministries in un-reached regions all of the Pakistan, Most of church planter evangelists trained at The Independent Bible College and some others trained in different colleges and seminaries in Pakistan and come to be a part of the God vision work through Independent Evangelical Ministries Most of church planters serve more than one congregation. Throughout the week evangelists share the Good News and help provide for the needs of the people in the villages un-reached areas and areas they dedicated to serve. Evangelists also teach children and bring then to our Child Fellowship Ministry and youth to bring them in Bible class to train them to be church planter. We don’t supporting our team of evangelists financially at this movement they are working on self-support.
Jesus came to provide us an abundant life as mentioned in John 10:10. This abundant life includes parents, spouse, children, good life partner, money, good job, good health, and success in business, love, wisdom, joy, peace, and anything else that would be a blessing. Mal 3:7 said spoke about giving, Here, Lord gives the condition of first giving from our side and then he said test me; I will open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for. Brothers and sisters take this first step, No matter how much you can give. Give what you have. If you have just two small brass coins; no problem; give that two small brass coins like that poor widow (see Mark 12:42). God said her better than all others who were giving more from abundance, but she gave all that she had.

As You know that Pakistan is country of 230 million people as 2022 and growing so fast. Pakistan is the 5th largest country in the world by papulation. Where we have millions of Christians as well. Independent Evangelical Ministries working in all five states of Pakistan and establishing home churches. We, as church planting organization in pakistan believes “Just building” is not a real church, people are the church. So with low financial resources we are not building buildings we are building home churches. 20 to 30 families come together at one place to worsip.
