Our History — This is how Independent Evangelical Ministries was founded!
A Legacy of Faith, Transformation, and Gospel Mission in Pakistan
Independent Evangelical Ministries (IEM) is more than just a Christian organization — it is a living testimony of how God can transform hearts, families, and nations through faith. Founded in 1995 under the banner of One Vision Society, IEM stands today as one of the leading Christian ministries in Pakistan, reaching lives with the message of Jesus Christ, nurturing local churches, and serving communities with compassion and purpose.
The journey of IEM began with a man whose life story mirrors the miraculous power of the Gospel — Pastor Din Masih, a man once surrounded by darkness, who found the eternal light of Christ and dedicated his life to spreading it throughout Pakistan.
The Miraculous Beginning of a Ministry
Before the founding of Independent Evangelical Ministries, Din Masih’s early life was far from what one would expect of a pastor. He was born into a family that practiced witchcraft and black magic — traditions passed down through generations. His mother, a respected practitioner in their town, earned a living by offering occult services. Every family member had a role in her work, binding them deeper into spiritual darkness.
But God had a greater plan.
In the late 1980s, seeking personal growth and new opportunities, Din Masih traveled to Quetta, a city in Balochistan province. There, by divine appointment, he attended an Evangelical Fellowship led by Pastor Bashir Masih. During that meeting, Pastor Bashir preached from Acts 16:31:
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household.”
Those words pierced Din Masih’s heart. The message of salvation struck him with divine conviction. He realized that true peace and power do not come from rituals or darkness but from surrendering to Jesus Christ.
Right there, in that humble gathering, Din Masih gave his life to Christ. It was a turning point that forever changed his destiny — and eventually, the spiritual destiny of countless others across Pakistan.
From Darkness to Light: A Family Transformed
When Din Masih returned to Lahore, he was determined to share the Gospel with his family. But this was no easy mission. His mother, who had led the family in witchcraft for years, initially rejected the message. The household’s livelihood depended on those dark practices.
Yet Din Masih stood firm in faith. He prayed day and night, fasting, interceding, and sharing the Word with love and patience. Over time, the power of the Holy Spirit began to work in their hearts. Miraculously, his mother and all twelve of his siblings accepted Christ, renouncing witchcraft completely.
This was not just a family conversion — it was a revival.
Their home, once a place of rituals, became a home church where worship, prayer, and Bible study began regularly. The transformation caught the attention of neighbors and families nearby, many of whom came to hear about this Jesus who changes lives.
That small home church became the seed of what would soon become Independent Evangelical Ministries.
The Founding of Independent Evangelical Ministries (IEM)
In 1995, Pastor Din Masih formally established Independent Evangelical Ministries under One Vision Society. His goal was simple yet profound — to spread the Gospel across Pakistan, plant churches, and equip believers to live out their faith boldly.
He began traveling from city to city — Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Quetta, and Karachi — carrying only his Bible and unwavering faith. He preached in homes, on streets, in villages, and under open skies.
Under his leadership, IEM quickly grew into a respected Christian nonprofit organization in Pakistan, reaching both urban and rural communities. The ministry became known for its evangelism work, church planting initiatives, and compassionate Christian charity for the poor, widows, and children.
Over the years, Pastor Din Masih and his team planted twelve churches across Pakistan and ministered to people in more than fifty cities. These weren’t just buildings — they were living, thriving communities of believers who carried the light of Christ into every corner of their regions.
The Legacy Continues: Pastor Shakeel Din’s Leadership
After the passing of Pastor Din Masih, his son, Pastor Shakeel Din, stepped forward to carry on his father’s vision. As a second-generation leader of faith, Pastor Shakeel brought renewed energy, modern strategy, and spiritual depth to IEM.
Under his leadership, Independent Evangelical Ministries has grown beyond the initial vision — reaching over 40,000 lives in more than 52 cities across Pakistan, including Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, and Gilgit Baltistan.
Pastor Shakeel continues to lead IEM as part of One Vision Society, ensuring that every program — from church planting missions to Sunday School ministries — remains focused on the heart of the Gospel.
Through online evangelism, community outreach, and faith-based humanitarian projects, IEM is now reaching both local and international audiences, drawing global attention to the Christian mission work in Pakistan.
Building the Future: Church Planting and Christian Missions in Pakistan
Church planting remains at the core of IEM’s calling. Each independent church established under the ministry is a testimony of God’s enduring grace. These churches are not only centers of worship but also training hubs for new leaders, safe spaces for believers, and community centers for social support.
IEM’s church planting mission has inspired many other Christian ministries in Pakistan to follow suit, establishing house churches, cell fellowships, and online churches across the nation.
In addition to church growth, IEM focuses on Christian education and outreach ministries, including:
Pakistan Sunday School Ministries – nurturing children with Biblical values and foundational faith.
Smile Orphanage Home – providing shelter, care, and Christian education for orphaned children.
Pakistan Urdu Bible Project – distributing Bibles and Gospel literature in Urdu to make Scripture accessible to all.
Brick Kiln Mission – supporting marginalized families trapped in bonded labor through relief and evangelism.
Online Urdu Bible Store – spreading Christian literature and resources nationwide.
Each ministry works hand-in-hand to create a lasting spiritual and social impact — a holistic expression of faith in action.
Faith, Transparency, and Hope for the Nation
From its humble beginnings to its nationwide outreach, IEM’s journey is anchored in faith, accountability, and transparency. Registered with the Punjab Charity Commission and the Government of Pakistan, IEM maintains full compliance with all nonprofit standards.
Every donation, prayer, and partnership fuels real transformation — from feeding the poor to planting churches and translating the Bible.
As a Christian missionary organization in Pakistan, IEM believes that faith without action is incomplete. That’s why every project is designed to meet both spiritual and physical needs — from sharing the Gospel to providing clean water, education, and hope.
Carrying the Torch of the Gospel Forward
Today, Independent Evangelical Ministries stands as a beacon of light in a nation where Christianity often faces challenges. Through prayer, perseverance, and global partnerships, the ministry continues to expand its footprint — empowering believers, equipping leaders, and transforming entire communities for Christ.
From a home once filled with darkness to a network of thriving churches, the story of IEM is proof that God still performs miracles.
As we look to the future, we invite you — friends, partners, and believers worldwide — to join hands with us. Together, we can continue to build the Kingdom of God in Pakistan, one soul, one city, and one generation at a time.
