Baptism in Pakistan
Great Commission is our Mission
Baptism in Pakistan | Baptizing people in Pakistan | what is Baptism | Baptism in according to Bible
The word ‘Baptism’ derived from the Greek word ‘βάπτισμα’ which means washing out something. Some baptist church in Pakistan immerse people in the water to baptize them and some sprinkling water on a person’s forehead for baptism. What is the correct process of baptism? How Jesus got baptized? Mathew 3:16 “Jesus, When he was baptized, went up directly from the water” This verse explains the procedure of Baptism.
Some denominations baptized their children at an early age and some believe that it must perform in maturity. Now, we will clear this point as well. See Mathew 3:11 where John the Baptizer said, “I baptize you in water for repentance”. I will emphasize on the word “for repentance”. Can we repent at an early age (i.e. 1 to 5 years old)? Are we able to repent at an early age? No, we even do not have a sense of repentance at an early age. Therefore, baptism must perform at that age when you understand the meaning of repentance.
Now we will understand the importance of repentance that Jesus explains through an example in Mathew 21:25. Here, Jesus asked one question from chief priests and elder of the people, “the baptism of John, the baptizer; where was it from? From heaven or men?” They said we don’t know. Then Jesus gave them an example of two sons to whom their father asked for work in the vineyard. First answered, ‘I will not’ but afterword he changed his mind and went. On the other hand, when the father asked the same thing to the second son. He replied, ‘I’ am going, but he did not go. Who is better? The first one is better, who repent and went.
When we further read Mathew 3:11 verse, we come to know that How Jesus gives baptism? He baptizes in the Holy Spirit. 1 Peter 3:21 clears us, Baptism is not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. How can we have a good conscience toward God? Is it possible through our force? No, it is possible through the Holy Spirit only. We may have a good intention for a few days through our force but it cannot be long-lasting.
Luke 7:30 says, “But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.” According to this verse, God is blaming those who did not baptize. Mark 16:16 also mentions this truth, “He who believes and baptized will be saved, but he who disbelieves will be condemned.” I think you are now familiar with the importance of Baptism.
I will also explain some gifts of Baptism. The person who will get Baptized, will receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit (See Acts 2:38), will cast out demons in the name of Jesus Christ, speak with new languages, take up serpents; and if they eat or drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on sick, and they will recover; (See Mark 16:17-18). If we get baptized; we put on Christ; then we are one of Jesus Christ (See Galatians 3:27).
Through this message, God is pointing you. Now, why are you waiting? Arise, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord (See Acts 22:16). We believe that when we get baptized and have a good conscience toward God; The Spirit of God comes on. If you have any doubt then pray to God, ask him for grace and guidance. I am sure; one day He will touch you and provoke you for baptism. Then baptism will wash your all previous sins and again make you a new one in Lord, like a newborn baby. When you believe that Jesus has carried away your sins, then Jesus will provide you his Holy Spirit to have a personal relationship with him. When it happens, God / The Holy Spirit is forever with you. You may forget it in the future but the Holy Spirit will not leave you alone ever.
